Qualification Information
Trainees seeking this qualification must...
- Pass the Asphalt Plant Level 1 written examination.
- Pass the Asphalt Plant Level 1 proficiency examination.
Please note: as of May 1st, 2006, anyone wanting qualification must pass both exams, whether previously qualified or not.
The Asphalt Plant Level 1 written exam (but not the proficiency) is required to attain initial qualification in Asphalt Plant Level 2 or Asphalt Mix Design.
Course Content
This course covers the following modules:
- AASHTO TP 4-00: Gyratory Compaction
- FM 1-T040: Sampling of bituminous material
- FM 1-T166: Bulk specific gravity of compacted bituminous mixture
- FM 1-T168: Sampling of hot mix bituminous paving mixture
- FM 1-T209: Maximum specific gravity of bituminous paving mixture
- FM 5-563: Quantitative determination of asphalt content from asphalt paving mixtures by the ignition method
- FM T-30: Mechanical analysis of extracted aggregat
Professional Engineers Credit: 16 PDH
Payment for registrations must be either by credit card at time of registration or by check within 10 days of the session start date.
